水上ドローンを使って河川流量を正確に観測する方法を開発しました。

　河川流量は河川機能の維持・改善や水資源計画立案などを行うための重要な資料です。現在は､観測者が河川に入り､水深計測と流速計測を行うことによって河川流量を求めることが一般的ですが､多大な労力が必要になります。環境科学専攻の大谷健人さん､藤原洋一・准教授､長野峻介・准教授､一恩英二・教授､環境科学科の中川悠希さんの研究グループは、水上ドローンに搭載した魚群探知機、位置情報を高精度に取得するためのGNSS（Global Navigation Satellite System）、UAV（Unmanned Aerial Vehicle）による河川流の動画撮影、画像解析による流速計測を組み合わせることで、河川流量を正確に観測する方法を開発しました。手取川において精度検証を行ったところ、本手法による河川流量観測の相対誤差は2～6%と高精度で、従来よりも安全に河川流量が観測できました。本研究の成果は、水資源量の正確な推定だけでなく河川生態系調査など様々な場面において活用されることが期待されます。
