廃棄野菜からガス・電気をつくる実証実験の開始式を行いました

　１月１２日に石川県立大学発ベンチャー「環境微生物研究所（株）」が、廃棄野菜を発酵してメタンガスと電気を生産する実証実験の開始式を行いました。環境微生物研究所（株）は生物資源工学研究所の馬場保徳講師が代表取締役社長を務めています。この実証実験では、ショッピングセンターのPLANT-3川北店にメタン発酵装置「エコスタンドアロン」を置き、実際の食料品売り場から廃棄される野菜クズでメタン発酵し発電します。メタン生産能力の評価を行うとともに、災害時の防災インフラ等に活用できるよう社会実装を目指します。
　当日は谷本理事長、西澤学長の他、（株）ＰＬＡＮＴをはじめとした協力企業の代表者に出席いただきました。馬場講師及び代表者の方々からの概要説明の後、メタン発酵システムのデモンストレーションを行いました。その後、廃棄野菜から作られたガスで調理したお汁粉がふるまわれました。
