乳酸菌の新奇な免疫増強成分を発見～L-リシンで修飾されたリポテイコ酸が免疫増強の鍵～

　石川県立大学生物資源工学研究所の松﨑千秋講師と川田真実さん（卒業生）、札幌医科大学の白石宗助教と横田伸一教授、（株）アルソア慧央グループの高橋知也氏らの研究グループは、乳酸菌の成分であるリポテイコ酸の構造が、乳酸菌の免疫増強機能と関係することを明らかにしました。

　アピラクトバチルス属乳酸菌の表層に存在するリポテイコ酸は、他の乳酸菌のリポテイコ酸よりも免疫の増強効果が高いことは分かっていましたが、その理由は明らかではありませんでした。本研究では、このリポテイコ酸の化学構造を明らかにし、アミノ酸の一種である L-リシンで修飾されていることを発見しました。これまで100近くのリポテイコ酸の構造が明らかになっていますが、L-リシンで修飾されたリポテイコ酸は今回初めて発見されました。さらに、免疫の増強活性（イムノグロブリンA産生増強効果）をマウス免疫細胞にて比較したところ、L-リシン残基が離れるとリポテイコ酸の活性は大きく低下し、L-リシンで修飾されることが免疫増強に重要であることも明らかにしました。
