東南アジアにおける動物と植物相互作用、特に大型の果実食鳥類であるサイチョウ類による種子散布とその生息環境の保護に関連した研究を継続しています。1997年からタイの熱帯季節林（カオヤイ国立公園、ブードー・スンガイパディ国立公園、ハラ・バラ野生生物保護区など）において、サイチョウ類による種子散布の研究を中心に群集レベルでの植物の開花・結実フェノロジー、林床で種子食害・二次散布を行うげっ歯類、実生の食害を行う有蹄類などの調査を行っています。
