研究概要

植物－微生物相互作用研究と病害防除への応用

　農作物の収穫量は、病害、気候、土壌環境、栽培品種など、様々な要因が影響します。その中で、病害による農作物のロスは、年間8～10億人分ともいわれています。植物病害の防除には、農薬（殺菌剤）の使用や抵抗性品種の導入などが行われていますが、それらに対する耐性菌の出現や環境への影響など、様々な問題を抱えています。このような問題に対し、私たちは、植物と微生物の相互作用という研究分野を通じて、1. 病害に対する植物の抵抗力（免疫力）、2. 植物に感染する微生物の病原力（感染力）の研究を行っています。これらの成果を、作物の安定生産の実現、減農薬など、持続可能な農業を目指した有効な病害防除戦略の確立に役立てることを目的にしています。
